Five County Credit Union in Rockland is collecting food for their local food pantry for the next two weeks.
Everything is needed! Family size packages would be great. Besides food they also would like shampoo, soap, dish detergent, toothpaste. Please drop off your donations. They are open on Main St. from 9-4. FMI

Sebastian Bond of Brunswick is the 5,000th Maine baby to receive the Harold Alfond College Challenge Grant. As with all Maine babies under one year of age, Sebastian was eligible for a $500 grant from the Alfond Scholarship Foundation to start a NextGen College Investing Plan® (NextGen®) account. Adult Grief Support Groups at the Hospice Volunteers Community Center, Main Street in Waterville. HVWA offers 4 ongoing adult grief support groups for people whose loved one has died. There is a Widow's Group that meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, a Widow and Widower's Group that meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10:00am to 12:00 noon, a Men's Grief Group that meets the 3rd Monday of each month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and a Women's Grief group that meets the 3rd Monday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00pm. - Pet Food Pantry in Fairfield distributes free pet food and supplies on the fourth Friday of each month. The non-profit food bank for animals is located at Victor Grange at the corner of Routes 23 and 139. Distribution time is from 2 to 4 p.m. The pet pantry is always looking for donations and volunteers. FMI: 409-5904
- The next time you are behind the wheel, make sure your tires are road ready. Proper tire care helps to keep you safe and saves money. When your tires are properly inflated, you can save 8 cents a gallon at the pump! Check your tire pressure every month and before long trips. FMI

Neighbor to Neighbor is a network of community volunteers building friendships with those who have little daily contact with others, and sharing information to insure that they are warm and safe this winter. Would you be willing to join the Neighbor to Neighbor project to connect to people who are alone and help them stay warm and safe this winter? Become a mentor to High School students. This a Cony/Cynergy Collaborative program. Each Cynergy volunteer will be assigned to their own small classroom of students, and meetings are held once a month for approximately 30 minutes. - The Harlow Gallery is owned, directed and supported by the Kennebec Valley Art Association . The KVAA supports the artistic development of our member artists, both amateur and professional, by providing opportunities for exhibition and other professional development at the Harlow Gallery. DVDs4Vets is a Non-Profit Charity that arranges for the collection and donation of new and used DVDs for the benefit of military Veterans. All DVDs are sent to Veteran's hospitals, Vet centers, clinics and State Vet homes.
